I love kids, and I love photographing them. Their spontaneity is an inspiration to ALL my work and something I strive to capture with my camera. I prefer these sessions to be much more natural, following the children around and letting them set the pace and the mood for me. I do very little posing; instead, I seek to connect with your child by getting down on their level and interacting with them.

You're likely to hear me asking your son or daughter about their likes and dislikes, hobbies, toys, etc. as I'm photographing them. This helps them to open up and results in much more natural and spontaneous images that really let each child's unique personality shine through. I ask that parents trust me to work in the way that produces the best images ; this may mean standing back a little bit and not “backseat photographing.” Though it may be our instinct to try and get our children to smile as soon as the camera comes out, I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised at the genuine emotions my methods can garner, and it's this authenticity you'll want to remember in the years to come.

As with any session, please avoid clashing colors, patterns, or oversized logos on clothing or accessories. If there is more than one child in your family, try to dress them in coordinating colors that compliment each other, and there will be plenty of time for outfit changes should you wish to do so.

Once I've edited the images from your session, taking care to showcase only the best and treating each one as its own piece of art, I'll schedule a date to come to your home to show you the proofing book. This is a spiral bound book of 4x6 prints, which you will be able to keep for 7 days following the proofing appointment.

This allows you time to look over each image carefully in order to decide which prints you want to purchase, as well as giving you the opportunity to show them off to family and friends. After the 7 days are up, we will meet again to discuss your order and the proofing book will be returned to me to be used in my portfolio. Prints will be ordered and delivered as promptly as possible, allowing time for the professional lab I work with to both receive and create a final product that you will enjoy and treasure in the years to come.
