Your little one is finally here! Now is the time to record all those details that are so easily forgotten later on – delicate skin still wrinkled and fuzzy, tiny fingernails the color of seashells, feet that can fit in the palm of your hand.

My newborn sessions are tailored to work around your baby's normal schedule, allowing time to stop for diaper changes, feedings, or if he or she just seems to need a break and a cuddle.

Due to this, sessions may run slightly longer than others, in order to guarantee both a relaxed and happy baby (and parents!) and enough images to provide you with a variety of proofs to choose from. I will incorporate “props” from your own home, such as blankets, pillows, etc. and also have a few of my own I may choose to bring out.

I will also often take several shots that I will later convert to black and white; because of this, I ask that both parents either wear or have a black shirt available to put on. This ensures a nice, dark background without any distractions, which is perfect for a dramatic black and white portrait.

Once I've edited the images from your session, taking care to showcase only the best and treating each one as its own piece of art, I'll schedule a date to come to your home to show you the proofing book. This is a spiral bound book of 4x6 prints, which you will be able to keep for 7 days following the proofing appointment.

This allows you time to look over each image carefully in order to decide which prints you want to purchase, as well as giving you the opportunity to show them off to family and friends. After the 7 days are up, we will meet again to discuss your order and the proofing book will be returned to me to be used in my portfolio. (This book is available for purchase; if you are interested, please ask at the time you place your order for pricing details.)

Prints will be ordered and delivered as promptly as possible, allowing time for the professional lab I work with to both receive and create a final product that you will enjoy and treasure in the years to come.
